Spiritual Emphasis Days utilize an experiential learning format to encourage and challenge students spiritually. Experiential learning entails students and faculty members participating in a particular activity and drawing from that activity, spiritual principles. Many times, Jesus taught his disciples as they went along doing everyday activities.
The 9th & 10th Grade Spiritual Emphasis Retreat is Sept 7-8 and is entitled, “Jesus the Great Treasure Hunt” based upon Matthew 13:44, "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”
HCS Permission Slip Forms were given out at Back to School Night. The cost for each student and parent chaperone is $70.The forms and monies must be turned in by Friday, Aug. 25.
The 11th & 12th Grade Spiritual Emphasis Retreat is Sept. 7-8 and is entitled, “Setting a Course for Life” based upon Ephesians 5:1 – 2, & 8, “Be imitators of God . . . Live a life of love . . . Live as children of Light.”
