HCS Core Values
Reverence for the Word of God:
The Bible is the standard by which we think, speak, act, and live. Hebrews 4:12; II Timothy 2:15
Christian Character and Faith:
The adults in the HCS community provide positive role models of Christ-like Character and Faith before the students. HCS students exhibit fear and reverence for God and demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in their actions and words. I Corinthians 11:1; Galatians 5:22-26
Scholarship:
HCS values learning and achievement. Parents and teachers teach our children by example the importance of inquiry, investigation, discovery, study, critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and diligence in the pursuit of learning. Colossians 3:23
Partnership between Home, Church, and School:
Parents, students, board members, teachers, and the administration partner together in the pursuit of the school’s mission. Parents ensure that the child receives spiritual training in the home and church, and that the child fulfills his or her academic obligations. In turn the school commits to fulfilling its mission and to earn the trust of the parent. This partnership is characterized by love, respect, and being at peace. Philippians 1:3-6; Proverbs 1:7; Ephesians 5:21-6:4; Hebrews 13:7; Mathew 18:15-17; Galatians 6:1; Matthew 7:1-5.
Service:
The members of the HCS family serve one another and the surrounding community. Philippians 2:3,4; Galatians 6:2
