SSLART - Art Aide
Prerequisites: Teacher Recommendation

Art aides provide assistance to the art department. Some of the tasks an art aide would be expected to do throughout the year include: processing and preparing art images for Artsonia.com, hanging art work in the display cases, glaze mixing, kiln loading and unloading, and general classroom clean up.
SSLATH - Athletic Aide
Prerequisites: Teacher recommendation

Athletic aides provide assistance to the physical education and/or the athletic department. Aides may assist a teacher with carrying out their classroom duties (i.e. assisting with grading, making copies, etc.), assist a teacher with elementary class instruction and classroom management, and assist the teacher with the Presidential Challenge Competition and with Elementary and MS Field Days. Athletic aides assisting the athletic director may assist with the planning, organizing, and facilitation of athletic events. Athletic aides may assist in organizing and maintaining uniforms and equipment and may assist in maintenance and care of athletic fields.
SSLCAF - Cafeteria Aide
Prerequisites: Food Services Director's Recommendation

The aide assists the Food Services Director in daily food prep work, cleaning and restocking. The student aide also assists the cafeteria lunch aides when necessary.
SSLDEV - Development Aide

The roll of the development aide is to provide office support to the development office. A development aide will have the opportunity to further develop public relation skills through leadership at various development office sponsored events (Grandparents' Day, Open Houses, etc.). A development aide should be a leader among his/her peers and be able to articulate and appreciate the mission and values of Harrisburg Christian School.
SSLDRA - Drama Aide

The aide will assist the music teacher in many tasks involved with preparation for the Spring Musical. This aide also assists in copying assignments and handouts for various drama classes.
SSLELE - Elementary Teacher Aide
Prerequisites: Teacher Recommendation
Periods per week: VariesCredit: .50Grade(s): 9-12
The student assists an elementary classroom teacher by helping with marking of papers, filing student work, running off copies on the copier, and putting up/taking down of bulletin boards. The aide may also assist students who are in need of extra help or practice during a lesson, as per teacher requests.
SSLGUI - Guidance Office Aide
Prerequisites: Teacher Recommendation

The student will assist the guidance counselor with various functions related to assisting students in the college selection process. The student aide may assist with the organization, planning, and communication of Guidance Office events (i.e. College Fair, the College Selection Seminar, the College Financial Aid Seminar, et.c) as well as assist with the production, organization, and communication of Guidance Office communique' (i.e. college planning literature, college scholarship information, etc.). The student aide should have strong organizational skills, computer skills (i.e. Word, Publisher, Excel, and Power Point), and communication skills, both written and verbal.
SSLIT - Information Technology Aide
Prerequisites: Teacher Recommendation
Periods per week: 2-3Credit: .50Grade(s): 10-12
The tech aides will assist with all aspects of technology at the school including: computer maintenance/repair, peripheral setup, cabling; assist with special function setup, operation and teardown; assist with the setup, rehearsal and performance of school chapels, concerts and assemblies. Participation in the annual musical is encouraged, but not required.
SSLMUS - Music Aide
Prerequisites: Teacher Recommendation

This aide will assist the music teacher in filing and organizing printed music for the variious choral and handbell performance classes. The aide also makes copies of assignments and handouts as necessary for various music classes.
SSLOFF - Office Aide
Prerequisites: Teacher Recommendation
Periods per week: VariesCredit: .50Grade(s): 9-12
The student will assist the office staff with various office and clerical functions. The student aide may assist with mailings, filing, communication notices, etc. The student aide should have strong organizational skills, computer skills (i.e. Word, Publisher, Excel, and Power Point), and communication skills, both written and verbal.
