HCS Weekly Prayer Calendar

"…let us throw off everything that hinders and…run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…”
- Hebrews 12:1-2

Sunday - Church/Family – Offer thanks to the Lord for Harrisburg Christian School (HCS). Pray for the strengthening of school families, for His guidance and provisions for local churches where HCS families attend, and for the pastors and leaders involved in shepherding the HCS school families and students. Learn our mission and core values and pray for their integration.

Monday - Students – Pray for the spiritual growth of HCS students, and for a spirit of sweet fellowship among and between students. Pray for the Lord’s strength on behalf of any students that may be experiencing discouragement and for the salvation of any student who has not yet committed his/her life to the Lord. Join school faculty and staff in praying that each boy and girl would discover more this year about the gifts God has implanted in his/her life, and begin to develop and use those gifts in practical ways. Leadership among and between students is a key to their preparation to be leaders of tomorrow so please pray for the Lord to raise up tomorrow’s leaders among our student body of grades K-12.

Tuesday - Faculty/Staff – Pray that God would grant our faculty and staff a special measure of love for each of our students and that he would grant each one of them good health. Pray that the Lord would bind the faculty and staff together as a unified team as well as that He would guide and direct them in their speech and actions as the leaders offering a Christian example in the educational environment. More about our faculty and staff.

Wednesday - School Community – Pray for the strengthening of the marriages and families within the HCS school community past and present (including parents, guardians, faculty, staff, alumni, and other friends). Pray that moms, dads, guardians, and grandparents would enjoy great success in discipling and disciplining their child(ren)/student(s). Also pray that the Lord would create a wonderful partnership between the school and all of the homes from which students come, provide adequate financial resources for those struggling to pay their household bills and tuition obligations in a timely manner. Learn our mission and core values and pray for their integration.

Thursday - Board/Administrative Team – Pray for spiritual integrity for those in leadership and that board members and administrators would lead with humility and a servant’s heart. Pray that as they seek wisdom and direction from the Lord in guiding and planning the school that He would superintend the visionary processes and steer the planning and execution strategies. Also, pray that the administration and board would be able to anticipate and respond well to the needs of individuals while also attending to the broader, institution-wide needs.

Friday - Development/Finances – Pray that the Lord would provide adequate finances to carry out the mission and that He would open the hearts of those He has chosen to give and to participate in fundraising. Pray that any individual representing HCS in the solicitation of support would approach potential donors with an honest and sincere heart. Also, pray that God help HCS staff/volunteers, who seek support for the school, to find new donors to augment the current ones so that the mission and all that the Lord directs the leadership to fulfill (vision) may be accomplished, for God’s glory. Pray that HCS find favor with other funding institutions such as local businesses and foundations when seeking resources.

Saturday - Community/Volunteer Impact – Pray that HCS would have a positive impact on our region as it engages the local community. Pray that students, through volunteerism and the quality of their service in the part-time workplace, will exhibit a godly example to our community. Pray that those outside HCS would be blessed by their associations with HCS, and that those who volunteer in various roles of service at HCS would experience joy and God’s blessings for their generous participation in the ministry of the school.
